The Schobermesse was a harvest
season celebration of the Central European country of Luxembourg. The
Luxembourg - American immigrants continued this cultural celebration in
the Chicagoland area. The Schobermesse Program Books were printed for each
celebration. The earliest publications (1909 through 1932) are written in
the German language. The next few Schobermesse Program Books (1933 and
1939) are written in part English and part German language. After the 1940
publication, the Program Books are written in mostly the English language,
if not completely in English.
